Centre for Skin Research Gothenburg

Molecular Skin Research is a new area of priority at the Faculty of Science, University of Gothenburg, which has resulted in the formation of the Centre for Skin Research Gothenburg (SkinResQU).

The overall objective of the Centre is to create a fundamental understanding of the molecular processes that are involved when skin is exposed to medical products, chemicals, nanoparticles and radiation. This intends to improve the existing methods for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of allergic contact dermatitis and skin cancer. The obtained knowledge will improve the effects of topical drugs and transdermal drug delivery (TDD) systems.

The competence within the Centre is unique internationally by the close collaboration within the fields of dermatochemistry, dermatology, medicinal chemistry, nanotechnology, biophysics, physical chemistry, organic chemistry, surface chemistry, odontology, and pharmaceutics.
